too long between posts

wow, over a year since I posted. That's about right though, my childhood diaries are about the same :p

lots of projects since then, but I've been very bad about taking pics of them. I also returned to work. So much fell by the wayside. I have completed some projects, a lemur for a special birthday girl, not sure how he's doing now though, was a pretty rough start to their friendship.
I also made a blanket for my niece who is due to have a baby any day now, can't wait to meet the new family member!

building up to a first birthday

Well its my little boy's first birthday party in a little over a week and of course we had a theme for his party, superheroes!! It was hard to decide what to dress my peanut as, so many choices! I looked at buying him a costume, but they were either really expensive, unavailable to be posted to Australia, or not in his size.... so a search on etsy gave me some inspiration and here is the Robin outfit so far, just have to make a cape... which is a little intimidating ... I think I have lost my sewing nerve!!

more photos to come :)

The lovely Shae posted this pretty picture of the hat... I might have to make a bigger one for winter, its very warm in Sydney. Isn't she beautiful!

after once again redoing the hat, i'm finally happy with it! here it is with the dummy holder i made for baby Alannah. Modelled coyly by womble-bear, hand-made by my Mum from an old coat.

Ollie's monkey

well I finally finished Ollie's monkey last night. I decided to use felt for the eyes as I wasn't really happy with the look the french knot knots gave. Posted today so hopefully AJ gives me a piccy of little Ollie with his new monkey!

I think he looks good :)

the other women in Mum's Group loved him too!

The hat for Shae's cooking bub is done, just working on the detail at the moment :)

and here's my beautiful boy watching Splodge on a sunny winter morning.

g'day

hmmm thought I'd give this a go and document my creative travels. Just finished Ollie's monkey, which was made using a Roxycraft pattern http://www.roxycraft.com/pattern_shop.htm
I have to buy some safety eyes for him and then he's being shipped off to Sydney, I hope Olly loves him :)
